  Desktop Author V3.2.6
Desktop Author is a program that I thought at first to be just another fluff program when I first looked at it. There are quite a number of authoring programs whether for straight computer use or for the web. This one I found once I got into its capabilities, could create a very interest self executable file that behaved like a book with turning pages.

I test it with a booklet I had already produced through MS Word so all I had to do was just copy and paste with the text and with pictures. The whole process went very smoothly and after about 8 or 9 pages I saved it as an "exe" file. I burned it to a CD because that way I can tell that the file doesn’t get changed and it will in fact play on other computers without the need for the original program.

I was impressed. It worked just like it was supposed to do including the ability to change the controls for the page turning or going from automatic turning to manual click turning. All the pages in the created book can be printed as well. Even the 82 page help document which describes in detail on how things are done is impressive.

I have to explore this program in more detail as to what else this program can do but for now, I would certainly recommend Desktop Author to anyone who wish to publish a book to be read on the computer.

My hat is off to the company down under in Ausie land.
