  Video Wave Movie Creator

I have been playing with various video capturing and editing programs for a while now and it is really hard to find a program that does exactly what you are after and make it easy to use. No one likes to read hundreds of pages just to edit a frame or two on a video or movie.

When I first installed this program, what I noticed is that it needs about 800 Mb of hard drive space if you install everything and this of course doesn't include any space you will need for the actual videos that you might capture or get to work on. I find that if you work on videos on your computer, you should be looking at a minimum of 60 gig hard drive space as movies, depending of the finished screen size and quality, take up a lot of hard drive space.

The file formats that this program handles are: AVI, DV-AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, WMV AND OUTPUT IN Real Network Video. It will also let you add sound files of course to your story board in WAV, MP3 AND WMA.

The program has a number of similarities to MGI's VideoWave with a number of neat extra features. The storyboard is relatively easy to use and the package contains quite a few special effects for crossovers from one video or picture to another. The cropping feature works easily but it is not a s easy as I expected it. You cannot view a series of frames in a series but rather click from frame to frame seeing only one frame at a time.

For a price of under $100 US the program has enough merits for purchasing to do your video capture and editing. I did manage to capture videos through my ATI TV Tuner card and one thing that I wish the program had was an easier way to change the channels through the program. It requires you to actually start a production in order to get to the section that lets you choose your tv channel. This was not cool as far as I was concerned because there are times when you need to go back and forth for various captures and this program does not make that easy to do.
All in all, I do recommend this program because it does have a burn to CD part built in that others do not have as well as extra features that are definitely fun to play with for creating special effects. In my opinion, get the program and I am sure that you will enjoy using it.
