  FriendlyNet 4-port USB Hub
Words from the company:
As your need for speed grows, you’ll need Asanté’s FriendlyNET Powered Hi-Speed 4-Port USB Hub to help you speed up transfers of digital pictures, video, music and other data files - at speeds up to 40x faster than conventional USB 1.1 hubs.
By taking advantage of the new 480 Mbps Hi -Speed USB 2.0 interface, you’ll be moving digital multimedia and data files about as fast as your hard drive can handle.
With 4 USB 2.0 ports, FB204 allows you to directly connect up to 4 USB ultra-fast devices such as next-generation scanners, printers and video cameras simultaneously to your portable or home computer. The FB204 not only maximizes the performance of your high-speed peripherals, but it also comes with an external auto-switching power module for your
high-current devices as well, which makes the FB204 your perfect travel companion.

The review:
I am now testing on a brand new P4 2.4 Gig machine running XP and all I did was plug the unit in and within seconds, the system recognized the USB hub and I was off to the races. I then proceeded to plug in a number of items and each in turn got recognized and installed without a hitch.

Now I won’t start doing specific speed test and tell you how many megabits get transported per second because a few seconds here or there is after all really irrelevant. The important aspects of any new hardware are that they install easily and can be used without any hardships. This USB hub from Asanté will certainly do that and I recommend it to one and all.

On another note that I forgot to tell you was that my new computer has 2 USB plugs just below the mouse and keyboard plugs and those are the 1.5 USB versions and when I plugged this new unit there, XP came up with a note that I should be able to get more speed out of this hub if I plugged it into the extra USB holes I have below as a PCI card expansion and once I did that, the unit was very happy. That is the kind of support we should all expect when installing any new hardware
