The Review:
For all you people out there that love to mod their computers look, boot screens, login windows and icons, this is a program you will want to get. It is so simple to change just about anything you want, without the hassle of manually changing system files (Win95, oh man that brings back memories). This does everything from icon images and styles, wallpapers, menu themes and screensavers to login screens, boot screens, clocks, and system monitors. Each different style of modification requires a different mini program included to run, for example, icons and boot screens require different mini programs to run. Also found that while the main program runs it does not take very much CPU or Memory usage, so it won’t bog your system down.

Installation was very simple, other than some small online registration. After that you can get right into changing the look and feel of your desktop. Once installed you have multiple programs that can get you started on making your windows look the way you want it to. The theme manager allows you to pick any theme you want, or if it doesn’t have one you want, go to their website http://www.wincustomize.com and they have literally hundreds of user pre-made themes, wallpapers, boot screens, etc. Or if you are feeling adventurous, it has an editor that allows you to make you own theme and also includes an editor for making icons which gets into pixel shading.

Some cool things that you can put in are System Monitors that tell you how much CPU and memory are being used. A “site ping” window, you can add in servers by IP or Name and it will constantly monitor how many “ms” it takes to get from your computer to the server added. A currency converter that is directly linked to the markets, and updates the prices every 14 minutes or at the click of a button and a desktop translator that can translate into multiple languages as well as a mail checker that can be set up to any mail provider as long as you know their mail server address, and many more utilities. Also includes a menu where you can download demos for many different games, or purchase them online from the same menu.

Only found one major problem that is most likely easily fixed, but couldn’t figure out how. While trying to set one of the custom windows to auto-hide, it came up with multiple errors and then crashed the mini program called DesktopX. Other than that I had no problems with this program, and I would recommend it to anyone that likes messing with the look of Windows or to someone that is getting bored with the standard windows theme and is looking for something new.
