The Review:
I would like to first talk about the good features. When this system was first set up for me to start testing the PVR and the satellite system, I was very excited as I have been using Cable HD and I was not happy with the cable quality so I was hoping that the satellite system would be better. I was pleasantly satisfied in very short order. The movies did not pixelise and the signal was strong and clear. With more movies and channels that you can shake a stick at, the only problem was the quantity of the menu I had to go through to pick out what I wanted to watch. We then had a power outage and I had lost all the channels so I was calling the support line on a Sunday afternoon to help me fix it. In no time I was talking to a young lady technician out of Toronto who had proceeded to walk me through step by step to recover all my channels. She spoke clearly and was pleasant the whole half an hour it took to go through the whole thing. This type of service alone is worth getting hooked up with Bell for the satellite TV system.

Next, I found that even without reading the manual that came with the DVR that I could set up the automated recording of weekly shows for me to watch at my own time with the ability of fast forwarding though commercials. What a wonderful feature of the DVR. Also while we were watching a show live, if the phone rang we could actually pause the live show and continue it after scrolling past the commercials again. I did not even come close to testing all of the special features that this PVR model had to offer but it looks like I will be definitely buy one for our personal use because once you have access to a PVR, you just cant live without one.

When comparing Shaw Cable (what I currently have) and Bell ExpressVu, I am sorry but it is like night and day. Bell far outclasses the signal quality and lack of interruption  shaw cable TV. Also, in the high def you can control the screen whereas with cable you cant. So, in my opinion, Bell wins hands down.

Now, the bad part of this review. One major complaint I have is that although you can program the PVR to record all the shows of the same name, the programmers that produce the menu should also provide info whether it is a NEW show or a repeat so that if you only wanted to record the latest and new ones, the PVR would do that. The other much bigger complaint that I have is that I will have to return this system and I will miss it more than anyone can imagine.

Good going Bell, this PVR is definitely a great product for all to buy and use.
